Lovely almost immaculate Victorian rosewood jewellery or sewing box, fully restored
All original pewter stringing on the top and the front
Original mother of pearl cartouche on the top as are the small rounds,
Original mother of pearl escutcheon
Solid brass hinges (stop hinges)
Original lock alas no key
Lined with vibrant pink satin and complementary printed marbled paper
Removable tray depth of tray is 2 cm and the storage depth underneath is 4cm
The grain on the box is beautiful
Size of box is 28cm x 20 cm x 10.5cm (H)
The finish is French polish and the base has green felt/baize.
NB There are a couple of veneer repairs, these are on the back base of the box and not my repairs!
One of the roundels shows sign of wear, this is commensurate with age
