A pretty box with fruitwood inlay
Original mother of pearl and brass cartouche on the top with initials E.M
Original brass hinges
Original working lock that we think is probably French with a key
Lined with fine black cotton velvet and vibrant printed marbled paper
Removable tray 2cm deep
Storage below is 3cm
Size of the box is 24.5cm at longest point x 17cm x 10cm
There is only one small repair in the inlay this is commensurate with age
French polish finish and the base has blue felt/baize
NB The lock does work however there is a knack to it! I always send a note about old locks and any quirks the lock may have
