Antique Rosewood Jewellery Box (or Sewing Box) with Mother of Pearl detail (Circa 1890-1900)
Lovely fully restored good size antique dark rosewood jewellery box with almost all the original intricate mother of pearl detail. The box could also be used for sewing bits and pieces or men's jewellery
On the lid all the mother of pearl is the original
Original solid brass stop hinges
Original lock, sadly no key.
The main part of the escutcheon has been replaced with fine brass
Lined with fine black velvet and complementary printed marbled paper
Size of box is 30cm x 21cm x 12.5cm (H)
Removable tray depth approximately 3 cm
Storage beneath the tray 5 cm
French polish finish
Base of the box has blue felt/baize
There are a few minor repairs around the hinges hence the price and a few minor infills
A great box for Christmas!
