Unique Arts & Crafts Style Jewellery Box (hand crafted)
A totally unique hand crafted jewellery/sewing or collections box.
The top is hand cut parquetry with a variety of traditional veneers used
The outside base covering of the box looks like leather, however it is actually paper using an old technique of soaking, scrunching and dyeing heavy paper. This has been applied to the box, sealed and polished.
Opening the box there's an unexpected treat, in the lid is an original oil painting by Stephen Fuller that is a copy of Lady Agnew (a John Singer Sargent painting) surrounded in deep red fine velvet
There is a removable tray covered with printed marbled paper depth of tray is 2.5cm approx
The interior of the box is also lined with the same paper
Storage underneath the tray is 7cm
Size of box is 30cm x 20cm x 14cm
There is a solid brass ornate handle on the top and the lid is held securely by two brass clips
The base has blue felt/baize
