Unique Arts & Crafts Style Parquetry Box for Storage/Collections or Memorabilia (Hand crafted)
A totally unique hand crafted large storage/collections or memorabilia box.
The top is completely hand cut parquetry with a variety of traditional veneers used
The outside of the box has parquetry on the front and back and covering the sides of the box is a material that looks like leather, however it is actually paper using an old technique of soaking, scrunching and dyeing heavy paper. This has been applied to the box, sealed and polished.
The rectangular handles on each side are original art nouveaux ones made of brass
The front of the box has a brass clasp
There is a removable tray covered with printed marbled paper depth of tray is 3cm approx
The interior of the box is lined with blue satin and printed marbled paper
Storage below the tray is 10cm
Size of box is 35cm x 25cm x 17.5cm
The base has blue felt/baize
